Glenrovert Cattery
A friendly, family-run boarding cattery near Sleaford, Metheringham , Lincoln and Woodhall Spa, nestled in the Lincolnshire countryside.
Licensed by North Kesteven District Council – AWL0019

About Us
We’re Andy & Peggy, and we’ve been running Glenrovert Cattery for over seven years. We have two British Shorthair cats of our own, Biccie and Max, as well as two Maine Coon / Ragamuffin crossbreeds called Wogan and Muffin. As cat lovers ourselves, we want our cattery to be the sort of place where we’d be happy to board our own cats.
Glenrovert Cattery in Lincoln enjoys an excellent reputation with a large base of regular customers. Set in the tiny Lincolnshire village of Scopwick, just a few minutes from the A15 between Lincoln and Sleaford, Glenrovert enjoys the sort of peace and quiet that only comes with being surrounded by farm fields.
We are purely a cattery, we do not own or look after dogs or any other animals, so we’re an ideal choice if your cat is startled or distressed by seeing or hearing dogs.
Accommodation
We have rooms of different sizes, mostly for one or two cats, and one which can accommodate up to four cats (all cats sharing a room must be from the same household). All our rooms have separate sleeping / feeding areas, which are heated during cold weather.
We are licensed by North Kesteven District Council, AWL0019.
Hygiene
Rooms (including litter trays) are tidied twice a day, and each room has dedicated scoops and brushes which are sterilised between guests. Rooms are deep cleaned between guests.
We use stainless steel bowls for food and water, and clean bowls are provided every mealtime. Pet-safe sterilising hand gel is used by staff when moving between rooms.
All meals included
We provide a range of food and drink options free, or you can supply your own speciality food if needed. Wet food options include Felix and Whiskas (1+ and 7+) and dry food is usually Whiskas or GoCat. Water is refreshed at least twice a day.
Special diets & medication
If your cat needs a special diet, or is on medication (including insulin injections), we are happy to accommodate their needs. Please make sure you bring enough food or medication for the length of their stay, preferably with enough for an extra day in case of any delays. We do charge a £2 per cat per day administration fee for administering medication/vitamins/dietary supplements etc.
Cancellation Policy
You’re welcome to alter or even cancel your booking at any point up until you check in, without penalty or fees. However, once your pet has checked in, you will be charged for the full duration of your booking, even if you pick them up early. If you need to extend a booking once it has started, we will do our best to accommodate you, however this may not be possible during peak times (July-October).
Entertainment
As cat owners ourselves, we know that cats love to play – so we have a range of toys that our guests can enjoy, and you are also welcome to bring any favourite toys from home. All our toys are cleaned and sterilised between guests. We also enjoy playing with our guests during the day, so let us know if they love extra attention! To top it off, we play music to our guests – usually Classic FM, as we find the mix of talking and classical music comforts the cats as well as providing a calming effect while they’re away from home.
Payment options
We are happy to accept cash or card payments, but we can’t accept cheques. There is no charge for paying by card, even AmEx .
We accept all major credit and debit cards, including Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Maestro, Visa Electron. We can’t accept JCB, Discover or Union Pay. We also accept Apple Pay and Android Pay.

Terms & Conditions
Please let us know if you have any queries about our terms and conditions. These are for the safety of all our guests, staff and our own pets, as well as being in line with the terms of our operating licence from North Kesteven District Council.
Vaccination requirements
An up-to-date veterinary health record must be seen to ensure that cats boarded have current vaccinations against feline parvovirus (also known as panleukopenia or feline infectious enteritis) and against feline respiratory viruses (feline herpesvirus and feline calicivirus).
Vaccination (including boosters) must have been completed, at the very least, 2 weeks before the cat’s arrival in order to ensure maximum protection for all our guests.
If you’re not sure if your cat is vaccinated, just ask your vet – they’ll have your cat’s records and can tell you.
Homoeopathic vaccination is not acceptable as it will not protect against infectious diseases.
Cats which cannot show an up-to-date vaccination record will not be accepted. This is to ensure the safety of all our guests, and is also a requirement of the licence conditions for all boarding catteries in the UK.
Note: We also reccomend vaccination against feline leukemia virus (FeLV), however it is not a requirement for boarding.
Fleas & Worms
We recommend that all cats are treated for fleas and worms regularly.
Medication and medical conditions
Please let us know if your cat suffers from any pre-existing medical conditions, or needs medication to be administered, so we can care for them correctly. We are happy to administer medication (including insulin injections) for a £2 per day per cat fee, as long as you provide clear instructions along with the medication. We recommend you provide your own pill syringe or other equipment.
Illness
We will not accept any cats which are, or appear to be, suffering from illness or infectious/contagious diseases unless accompanied by a letter from their vet certifying that they do not pose a risk to our other guests. If a cat becomes ill during their stay here, they will be taken to our preferred vet or to your regular vet if you prefer. Any charges will be added on to your bill for payment when collected (receipts will be provided). If necessary, your cat may be isolated in a separate room to safeguard our other guests. The isolation room cannot be booked in advance.
Feeding
All our guests are fed main meals (wet) twice each day, with dry food topped up during the day as necessary. If you have any special requirements, please let us know. We stock common brands of wet and dry food (Whiskas, Felix, GoCat, some supermarket brands), however if your cat needs a special diet please bring enough food for their stay. We do not charge for food.
Payment
You may pay when you drop off or collect your pet(s).
We accept:
- Cash
- Chip & pin card payment (Visa, MasterCard, American Express)
- Contactless (including Apple Pay and Android Pay)
There is no additional charge for paying by card. We cannot accept cheques.
Disclaimer
Whilst every care and precaution is taken to safeguard the health and wellbeing of all our guests, they are boarded entirely at the owner’s risk.
If any animal is not collected within 14 days of their expected collection date and we have not agreed alternative arrangements with you, we reserve the right to re-home the animal.
